1. Believe in the one and only God, Allah.
2. Believe that everything happens for a reason and Allah knows best. (Surah Al-Kahfi: 14)
3. Believe that Allah is capable of miracles, but He will only make miracles happen if we do our part (not be lazy.)
How can one achieve continual guidance from Allah SWT, as achieved by the Ashab Al-Khafi?
1. Self-sacrifice
In the case of the Ashab Al-Khafi, they fleed from their comfort zone. They don't mind having to live in a cave for the time being, as they know Allah is with them.
2. Perseverance
Find ways to maintain our belief. No matter what others (that don't believe in what we believe in) say, we have to built upon our knowledge and not fall for the mind games of Syaitan.
3. Self-control
We must practice self-control when dealing with someone who are against us in religious terms. In a sense, we must try to tactfully change his/her mentality, instead of forcefully doing so. In other words, doing so in a constructive manner, not destructive. This is the very foundation of Islam itself.
